Why this site?
GeneDrugs comes from personal experience.
As a parent of children living with medical conditions, I know how difficult it can be to find and understand the information you need.
With the initial news often comes shock. I didn't fully understand what the doctor was saying, the medical terms being used, or even what questions I should be asking.
When I got home and started digging, I found that the information was scattered everywhere — across research papers, medical databases, clinical trials and different websites. Even when the information was available, finding it and putting the pieces together wasn't easy.
That's where the idea for GeneDrugs began.
- Bring useful public research sources together in one place.
- Make it easier to discover and understand unfamiliar terminology.
- Help people find the original research and sources for themselves.
- Help you discover questions you may want to discuss with your healthcare team.
- Give you a starting point for your own research — not an ending point.
- Never pretend to replace your doctor, researchers, medical professionals or the original sources.
There may be other websites that are better suited to your particular needs, and we encourage you to use them. GeneDrugs isn't intended to replace those resources or compete with them.
When it comes to knowledge, we don't believe in competition. If another trustworthy resource helps you find the information you need, then it has helped accomplish the same thing we're trying to do here.
What does it cost?
GeneDrugs is free to use.
- No subscription.
- No account required.

- If operating costs eventually require a small charge, it will only be for services required to operate GeneDrugs, such as infrastructure, processing or other running costs.
- GeneDrugs will not use those charges to generate a profit.
- We may explore limited, unobtrusive advertising to help offset operating costs and reduce or avoid charges to users.
